Menehune Shores is a beachfront condo resort in North Kīhei: 154 units in a single six-story crescent-shaped building on nearly four oceanfront acres at 760 South Kīhei Road, built in 1976 directly beside the Koʻieʻie Fishpond, a Hawaiian loko iʻa dating to the 1400s and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

On-site amenities include an oceanfront solar-heated pool, a rooftop deck with BBQ grills and panoramic 360-degree views, an oceanfront BBQ area with picnic seating, shuffleboard, elevator access, and Monsoon Bar & Grill on the ground floor.

The fishpond’s ancient breakwall creates a calm, sheltered swimming area directly offshore, one of the few protected ocean entries on the South Maui coast.

While Menehune Shores is situated right on the water, beach sizes in Maui are prone to seasonal shifts and tide changes.

Menehune Shores stays through MPP carry no resort fee, confirmed at booking. Parking is open on-site with registration at the front desk; between mid-December and late March, parking is limited to one vehicle per unit.

The Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary Visitor Center sits next door to the property: free admission, interpretive exhibits, and a shoreline viewing deck. Kamaʻole Beach Parks I through III are five to ten minutes south along South Kīhei Road; Wailea and the Shops at Wailea (dining, boutiques, grocery) are about ten to fifteen minutes south.

Māʻalaea Harbor (the launch point for most Molokini snorkel trips) is about ten minutes north. During humpback whale season (November through April) the rooftop deck at Menehune Shores and the adjacent Sanctuary shoreline offer reliable whale-watching vantage points.
